Forklift Rental
Tips
When it comes to renting the perfect forklift truck, its good to note that every environment may need a different machine. This depends on the ground, overhead height restrictions, location and the type of products you operate with. Below is a few tips to help you request the correct machine when you ask us for a quote.
FORKLIFT TRUCK CAPACITY
Its an important requirement to know what you'll be lifting and always asking for a capacity of machine which slightly exceeds what you'll need. Such as having a 2 tonne machine, if you are lifting around 1800kg of products. Its also important to note that if your product is longer than 1000mm, you will need a larger machine capacity than your product suggests.
OVERHEAD RESTRICTIONS
Due to various forklift truck equipment being fitted with different masts to suit different environments, it is important to make us aware if you will be operating the machine under such things as low ceilings, mezzanine floors or through low door ways. This allows us to make sure the forklift truck being offered is fitted with a mast which wont open up at the top when the forks are lifted from the ground.
FORKLIFT POWER CHOICE
When it comes to choosing the right power option for your machine, you have the options of electric, gas and diesel. The different options generally depend on the environment the machine is being used in such as inside or outside, as well as its usage and if you can operate efficiently while charging an electric machine, or need a fast turn around such as gas bottle changes.
FORKLIFT CHASSIS STYLE
The chassis your require on your forklift truck is mainly dependent on your environment, such as if you are working in a tight warehouse and the machine is being kept in there permanently, you may require a compact three-wheel electric machine. Where-as if you are operating outside on uneven bumpy ground, then you would require a high ground clearance rough-terrain machine.
